Weather Bulletin Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 6:16am on Friday the 2nd of February 2018

A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR YASAWA AND MAMANUCA GROUP, VITI LEVU AND VANUA LEVU, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Rain becoming frequent from later today.

Elsewhere, occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwest winds. Winds gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas. Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Labasa : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Rotuma : A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR THE LAND AREAS AND WATERS OF ROTUMA.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain affects Rotuma. Over Land: North to northwest winds 40km/hr to 55km/hr, gusty at times.

Over Waters: North to northwest winds 20 to 30 knots, gusty at times. Rough to very rough seas. Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Outlook for Saturday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR VANUA LEVU WATERS, NORTHERN LAU WATERS AND VATU-I-RA PASAGE.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated rain remains slow moving over the Fiji group.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters: For Vanua Levu waters, Northern Lau waters and Vatu-i-ra Passage: Northerly winds 20 to 30 knots. Rough to very seas. Moderate southeasterly swells. Poor visibility in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Northerly winds 20 to 30 knots, gusting to 35 knots. Rough to very rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells.

For the rest of Fiji Waters: Southwest to northerly winds 15 to 20 knots. Winds gusty at times. Moderate to rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells. Poor visibility in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Southwest to northerly winds 20 to 25 knots, gusty at times. Rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells.
