Josua to lead well

Maikeli Seru In Hamilton, New Zealand
Friday, February 02, 2018

BIBLICALLY Joshua the prophet led the Israelites to the promised land centuries ago.

Josua Vakurinabili wants to do the same for the Fiji Airways Fiji 7s team in the Hamilton 7s in New Zealand this weekend.

"This is my first tournament in New Zealand and it is a big challenge for me," Vakurinabili said during the team's visit to Woodstock Primary School.

"The fans at home are waiting for a win and I want to help us make an impact in Hamilton. This tournament is different from the Sydney 7s because the weather is different and I think it will suit us. The only difference is that we are playing in New Zealand and it will be very tough.

"I am going to lead by example to other players and send the message that we will not be allowed to be disappointed again," he said during an interview which was conducted before team manager Jone Niukula was approached for comments.

The team, meanwhile, visited a primary school in Hamilton yesterday where they met students, signed autographs and gifted rugby balls.
