New beach club plans for children

SOFITEL Fiji Resort and Spa on Denarau Island plans to develop a new beach club for children to appeal to families holidaying in Fiji.

Resort general manager Vincent Macquet said the concept would be similar to that of the waitui beach club.

"We are going to have the best kids club on this island and just like Sofitel opened the Waitui Beach Club three years ago as a first beach club concept for adults, we are going to open the best beach club experience in Fiji for the little ones, so a Waitui Club, but for kids," he said.

"At the end of the day, there are two types of clientele coming here. You have the couples and the families so our view at Sofitel is that families should have a good experience and that's why we're doing this for them."

He said their vision for the property moving forward was to raise the bar.

"Our slogan for the entire team, after having had a great management retreat, is 'raising the bar'.

"We are going to walk away from just being a commodity and just being substandard, being beach, sun and resort and creating more unique and curated experiences for each of our guest."
