Sacrilege unacceptable: CCF

Update: 6:07PM THE acts of sacrilege at Hindu places of worship across the country have been strongly condemned by the Citizens' Constitutional Forum (CCF).

In a statement issued today, CCF Chief Executive Officer Bulutani Mataitawakilai said "Any act of sacrilege and religious intolerance is unacceptable and must be denounced in the strongest terms."

Mr Mataitawakilai who has welcomed the statement by the Police Commissioner Brigadier General Sitiveni Qiliho a taskforce of officers was investigating the acts said  Fijians from all walks of life slamming these cowardly acts of vandalism especially on social media is a positive sign.

He also highlighted that we must continue to raise awareness on peaceful coexistence especially to the younger generation in order to build peaceful and harmonious communities in our country adding that a space was needed for bridging religious and ethnic divides.
