9s tourney to kick off rugby league season

Thursday, February 01, 2018

Update: 5:20PM THE Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL) season will start next month with a 9s tournament at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka.

Twenty four teams are expected to be part of the one-day tournament.

FNRL chief executive officer Timoci Naleba said workshops and consultations were part of their plans for the day.

"What we want to build onto our players is the thinking, mindset that the competition is not for them to only win a game but for them to learn," Naleba said.

"We are organising the 9s along with some workshops, with one on one consultation with fitness people that they will be there, they can learn more and help them through the year."
