HAMILTON 7s: Will to win

Thursday, February 01, 2018

Update: 12:15PM FIJI Airways 7s skipper Jerry Tuwai said the national side would win the inaugural Hamilton 7s this weekend.

If that happens, the Fijians bring back the ghost of the 2000 inaugural Wellington 7s when the Waisale Serevi-led team beat Eric Rush and his star-studded team which included Jonah Lomu and Christian Cullen.

"There is a special bond of friendship and love between us players in this team that makes us speacial and champions," Tuwai told students of Woodstock School in Hamilton this morning.

"We will win your tournament," he said.

The team meanwhile has a rest day today and will be joined by replacements Vatemo Ravouvou and Apenisa Cakaubalavu at training at the Marist Rugby Club grounds tomorrow.

The tournament starts on Saturday.
