Weather watch: Heavy rain warning remain for islands

Update: 11:43AM A HEAVY rain warning remains in force for the Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Lau and the Lomaiviti group.

According to the special weather bulletin number nine on heavy rain issued from RSMC in NADI at 11:50am today, a trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain remains slow moving over the fiji group. 

The forecast the Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu, Vanua Levu, Lau and the Lomaiviti group there will be occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms with rain becoming frequent tonight.

Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas.

As for the rest of Fiji, expect occasional showers and few thunderstorms, isolated heavy falls expected and localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding.

The next special weather bulletin will be issued around 2:50pm or earlier.
