A HEAVY RAIN WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR YASAWA AND MAMANUCA GROUP, VITI LEVU, VANUA LEVU, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated showers and rain lies slow moving over the Fiji group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Rain becoming heavy and frequent from today. Elsewhere, occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate to fresh southwest to northwest winds. Winds gusty at times. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Labasa : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Rotuma : Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain affects Rotuma. Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh northerly winds, gusty at times. Moderate seas.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain and few thunderstorms.

Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated showers and rain lies slow moving over the Fiji group.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters: Southwest to northwest winds 15 to 20 knots. Winds gusty at times. Moderate to rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells. Poor visibility in areas of heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Southwest to northwest winds 15 to 20 knots, gusty at times. Winds increasing to 25 knots over Vatu-I-Passage, Northern Vanua Levu, Koro sea and Lau group tomorrow.

Moderate to rough seas. Moderate southeasterly swells.
