Nadi FA to invest

THE Nadi Football Association has decided to invest on their players for the future.

The association has re-signed star players such as Vereti Dickson, Ilimotama Jese, William Valentine, Napolioni Qasevakatini and Rusiate Matarerega until 2020.

Nadi made a bright start in the Vodafone Premier League (VPL) defeating Ba 3-1. However Ba field a protest following the loss with the decision pending.

The association's president Javed Ahmed said their aim was to retain their players and invest in them for the future.

Ahmed said no players from other districts were on their radar for the time being with the transfer window closing yesterday.

"We are looking at the welfare of our boys," he said.

"It is only fitting because they have been dedicated to the district. We have re-signed all our top players for the season."

Nadi will take on Rewa in the VPL at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori on Sunday.

Javed said Rewa would be tough to beat on their home soil.

"They have brought in some new players and will be a different outfit," he said.

"We are looking forward to the match and will try our best to beat them. The VPL title is our target this year."

The fixture will kick off at 3pm. On Saturday at Subrail Park at 1.30pm, Labasa will host Dreketi.
