Network upgrade

DIGICEL subscribers can expect a better and faster network service after the company's investment in a network upgrade recently.

The company's new CEO, Mike Greig, yesterday said they had spent a significant amount of money on their network upgrade to give their customers better service.

Mr Greig said their main aim was to bring technology to Fiji, whether it was for young people, students, businesspeople or the elderly.

The mobile phone network provider has extended the time on its popular 7GB for $7 offer indefinitely.

Mr Greig said the response to the offer was overwhelming and had led to an increase in their customer base over the past few weeks.

He said they wanted to be as transparent as possible, which meant removing the outer bundle charge for customers.

"Removal of the outer bundle charging means that now a customer can use the data bundle on their phone and when they reach their bundle limit they can continue to use data through their credit at just 21c a megabyte which is almost nothing. We will lose money, but we want to reward our customers because it's a better deal for them," he said.

The company will roll out its upgraded network service to its customers across the country.
