Fiji's PS Health resigns on personal grounds

Update: 2:47PM FIJI'S permanent secretary for the Ministry of Health and Medical Services Philip Davies has resigned.

According to a Government statement issued today, Mr Davies who had cited personal reasons for his decision will be leaving the ministry to spend time with his family in the United Kingdom.

Public Service Commission chairperson Vishnu Mohan has accepted Mr Davies' resignation.

The Commission has appointed Susan Kiran who currently holds the office of Cabinet secretary as the acting permanent secretary for the ministry with the agreement of Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama.

The appointment takes effect immediately.
