New kitchen for Ba corrections

Update: 12:13PM INMATES held at the Ba Corrections Centre get a new kitchen and dining hall this morning.

Opened by the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum, the facilities are newly constructed.

The corrections centre, one of 15 operated by the government has the capacity to hold 50 inmates currently hosts 37, corrections public relations officer Jone Kalouniviti said.

Located in Namosau, Ba Corrections Centre was established in 1950 to cater for inmates from the western division with a sentence of less than six months.
