A HEAVY RAIN ALERT IS NOW IN FORCE FOR YASAWA AND MAMANUCA GROUP, VITI LEVU, VANUA LEVU, LAU AND LOMAIVITI GROUP.

For more information refer to: www.met.gov.fj/aifs_prods/20014.txt Situation: A trough of low pressure just to the west of Fiji is gradually moving towards the group. The associated clouds and rain affects the country.

Forecast to midnight tomorrow for the Fiji group: Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over Yasawa and Mamanuca group, Viti Levu and Vanua Levu, Lau and Lomaiviti group. Rain becoming heavy and frequent from tonight. Elsewhere, occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Localised heavy falls may lead to flash flooding of low lying areas. Moderate to fresh northwest to northeast winds. Winds gusty at times. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Labasa : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms. Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Rotuma : Situation: A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers remains slow moving in the vicinity of Rotuma. Occasional showers and few thunderstorms. Moderate northerly to easterly winds. Moderate seas.

Outlook for Friday : Occasional showers and few thunderstorms.
