Family's plight solved

A FAMILY'S plight to send their children to school was not in vain after they received assistance yesterday.

The Suqe family of Bouma settlement in Labasa received school stationery for their five children from Suva's TNT Outreach Social Club at their home. The family's plight was highlighted by this newspaper last week after the children had gone to school without some of their school needs.

The family received school bags, lunchboxes, water bottles and umbrellas.

Asivurusi Suqe, 59, said they were amazed at the amount of assistance that reached their doorstep.

"We thank the TNT Outreach Social Club for their kindness," he said.

Mr Suqe said they never expected to get so much help from members of the public. "My children have gone to school with new and expensive bags which I could not afford and I thank each and every one who contributed to my children's education," he said.

"This is definitely a good Samaritan's work that we are being blessed with this year. We don't have enough to offer but we pray your families, work and everything that each and every person be blessed always."
