Subramani sentenced to 8 years for manslaughter

Update: 12:59PM SUBRAMANI Goundar who was convicted of causing the death of a 35-year-old man in Nausori in 2016 was sentenced to eight years imprisonment at the High Court in Suva today.

Goundar was convicted and sentenced on three counts by High Court judge Justice Salesi Temo.

The first count being  of manslaughter, second count of not able to provide sufficient sample for breathalyzer test and final count being failure to comply with requirements following an accident.

He has been given 30 days to appeal the ruling.
