CSO's preparatory workshop

Tuesday, January 30, 2018

Update: 12:51PM A PREPARATORY workshop for civil society organisations to ensure their direct engagement with the development of regional policies will be held in Suva in March.

This event leads up to the Forum Economic Ministers in Palau in April and the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders in Nauru later this year.

"The Forum Secretariat is committed to being inclusive of all key stakeholders. Therefore working closely with CSOs is crucial to ensuring that the issues they raise inform the agenda for Forum Leaders and Economic Ministers when they meet in 2018," Cristelle Pratt, Acting Secretary General of the Pacific Islands Forum said.

"The CSO Forum would also need to select and prepare a group of representatives that would represent CSOs in their engagement with Forum Leaders and Economic Ministers in 2018."

CSO's keen to attend the Regional CSO Forum are to apply through the Forum Secretariat website, before the submission deadline on Feb 2, 2018.

The event is funded by the European Union in the Pacific under the EDF 10 through the Programme for Strengthening Non-State Actors Engagement in Regional Policy Development and Implementation.
