COMMISSIONER of Police Sitiveni Qiliho hosted the champion Police 7s teams to a morning tea after the sides presented their winnings at their headquarters in Laucala Beach yesterday.

In a press statement released yesterday, Qiliho, while acknowledging the two teams, said police officers serving in Fiji and abroad celebrated the win and it helped lift the morale of the policing family.

"Those serving in rural stations, in the small community posts and members of the police force serving in the mission field had followed every match closely and for every win we celebrated with you," he said in the statement.

"Keep up the winning culture and at the same time create a legacy for yourself so that we can have more officers representing Fiji and ensure that your name is remembered as one of the greats to have donned the Police jersey."

Led by team captain Sitiveni Waqa, the team presented the 2018 Mana Whey Coral Coast Sevens trophy and the prizemoney of $20,000 and the Congo Waimanu 7s trophy and $5000 which the Police Blues won in the final as well as the $400 consolation prize won by the Police White for reaching the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, Fiji Police rover Sakeo Railoa has joined the Fiji national 10s squad in training as they prepare for the Brisbane Global Tens at the Suncorp Stadium in Australa on February 9-10.

In a Police Media Unit press statement, team manager IP Tomasi Seviua confirmed that Railoa, the Mana Whey Coral Coast sevens best player had marched into camp with the Fiji 10s team.
