Replacement for meters

RESIDENTS living along the Suva-Nausori corridor can expect to have their water meters checked and replaced by the Water Authority of Fiji (WAF).

Confirming this, the authority said domestic water meters would be replaced in these areas.

"All meters were divided into metered zones and replacement works would be conducted zone by zone, on the basis of a quarterly replacement cycle," the authority said.

"Water meters that are older than 10 to 15 years and those that have stopped registering will be replaced."

The authority said customers may store water before the technicians begin work, if they felt it was necessary.

"Replacement work on site will take our technicians approximately 15-30 minutes, or less, to complete.

"Technicians will issue customers with a meter replacement form to acknowledge receipt of the new meter and to give them the opportunity to provide their comments and feedback."

The authority said the new meters would provide customers with accurate readings of their water usage and bills.
