Update: 10:34PM A WORLD Health Organisation programme will support small island states ensure their health systems are climate resilient by 2030.

A statement from the government claims Fiji helped to negotiate an agreement to that effect during a meeting of Executive Board of the United Nations agency in Geneva, Switzerland recently.

The Executive Board of the World Health Organisation has agreed to launch a programme to address the health effects of climate change in Small Island Developing States (SIDS), including Fiji and other Pacific Island States and Territories, the government statement said.

Fiji was represented by Mr Philip Davies, Permanent Secretary for Health & Medical Services, in negotiating the agreement during a meeting of the Board in Geneva, Switzerland.
