Cutters' wages

Sukha Singh, Labasa
Sunday, January 28, 2018

INSTEAD of bringing in lower paid canecutters from other countries, Government should subsidise canecutters' wages .

It is one of the hardest jobs in Fiji; you have to endure the heat, rain and hornets . You have to provide your own safety gear etc .

I think canecutters do deserve a just wage for the hardest job in Fiji.

Even ladies and girls have been cutting cane in Labasa but I still consider it as one of the most hazardous jobs. especially when you have to cut and load burnt cane.

I hope the Government can help these desperate people .
