Lifestyle magazine app soon

Saturday, January 27, 2018

Update: 4:04PM EXPECT a brand new locally made magazine built on cutting edge web application to be available for download to your mobile devices in the next few weeks.

Named Mana Pacific the magazine is the brain child of local information technician Asvin Singh better known locally as Bau.

He has partnered with former media personality and former beauty queen Hosanna Kabakoro.

Mr Singh is better known as leader of local photography group, Fotofusion which has has been official photographers to Fiji Fashion Week since 2012.

"The idea was always there," Mr Singh said.

"I really felt there's a huge scope in Fiji to do other things. I could see that the app industry in Fiji is an infant. There was nothing."

The magazine which will be launched to local media and potential advertisers next week is scheduled for public launch from both the Google Play and Apple stores by the end of February.

"I got into this industry and was exposed to creative ideas and I realised I had the IT skills which means I can make the app and the photography skills which means I can get into media," he said.

"The Pacific doesn't have an engaging app where people are always engaged and keep going to the app. Second thing, the Pacific doesn't have any free media to read, like a magazine with rich content."

"I realised we could make a magazine app and for two years we have been working on this."

The magazine is named Mana to represent the indigenous concepts of sacred spirit common to most Pacific island communities.
