Decline in vehicle registration

Update: 11:14AM THERE was a 21 per cent decline in the number of motor vehicles registered with the Land Transport Authority for the first seven months of 2016 and 2017.

A factsheet by LTA revealed that a total of 6925 motor vehicles were registered between January to July of 2017 compared to 8721 in 2016.

Private vehicles made up approximately 70 per cent of all new registrations.

LTA stated overall percentage change by vehicle class between January - July 2016 vs January - July 2017 included 4.2 per cent for commercial, -0.08 per cent for diplomatic, -0.03 per cent for driving schools, -2.68 per cent for Government, - 2.24 per cent for private and 0.84 percent for PSVs.
