Congratulations Australia: PM

Update: 11:03AM FIJI?s Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama yesterday congratulated the people of Australia as they celebrated their national day.

In his letter of well wishes to Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, Mr Bainimarama said  it was fulfilling to witness the bilateral relationship between Fiji and Australia ascend to greater heights with increased engagement and collaboration at all levels.

"I also acknowledge Australia's recognition of Fiji's economic potential and its capacity to serve as a regional hub and I am confident that the level of engagement that our two countries share in the areas of business, tourism, security and humanitarian and disaster response will continue to grow as a result of this renewed commitment," he said.

"I wish to also take this opportunity to convey to you and your Government our sincere appreciation for the support extended to Fiji during our COP23 Presidency. Our COP journey will end this year, however, I am confident that we have your support for years to come."
