SIXTY youths from the Tamavua zone will benefit from a three-day train the trainer workshop next Wednesday hosted by Fiji National Sports Commission at Tamavua Village, Suva.

Chairman Peter Mazey said the youths would be exposed to programs such as fitness leader and sports in communities by working with national sporting federations such as Fiji Rugby Union, Fiji Volleyball Federation and Netball Fiji.

"Ten communities within this zoning have been identified as the sports commission continues its second training program after a successful one in Lami last year," Mazey said.

"The Fiji National Sports Commission has been visiting communities around the urban areas in trying to encourage and educate young people to get involved in sports administration, coaching; and other programs that can contribute to the improvement of sporting activities in the urban communities."

Mazey said the intention was to educate and empower urban youths like those living in the Tamavua zone to create community clubs and have regular sporting activities and get affiliated to national federations.

Assistant Minister for Youth and Sport, Iliesa Delana will open the workshop.
