Margot Robbie: 'Neighbours' cast made me eat right

Saturday, January 27, 2018

Margot Robbie has admitted she didn't know how to look after herself when she first left home at 17 to star in Neighbours.

The blonde beauty played Donna Freedman in the Australian TV soap for three years between 2008 and 2011, moving away from her family to live alone in the city for the role.

Margot, now 27, admits she had no idea about how to cook or run a house at first but her co-stars took her under their wing.

Appearing on Australian chat show The Project, she said: "I was 17 when I started on the job and I had just moved from the Gold Coast and didn't know anyone in Melbourne. Obviously I had never lived on my own before and everyone just pretty much took me under their wing. I was pretty much living on Froot Loops for breakfast, lunch and dinner!"

But the rest of the cast, including Jackie Woodburne who plays Susan Kennedy and Ryan Moloney, who stars as Toadfish "Toadie" Rebecchi, took it upon themselves to take care of her.

Margot revealed: "Everyone was like, 'OK, you will come over to my house' ... Susan Kennedy would invite me over once a week and cook me a roast. Toadie, or Ryan who plays Toadie, helped me do my taxes!"

The Suicide Squad star also admitted she is absolutely delighted to have been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for her performance as disgraced American figure skater Tonya Harding in I, Tonya.
