New Covenant launches album

GOSPEL music group New Covenant launched their ninth album on Wednesday night which they say is all about winning souls back to God.

Chief guest at the launch was rugby sevens icon Waisale Serevi.

Serevi said he gladly accepted the invite to be at the launch because of the assistance rendered to him during his "good and bad days" by New Covenant founder Pastor Viliame Raqio.

"I'm so blessed to be here, to be part of the launch of this famous gospel music group. Singing is their pulpit where they preach the word of God. For some, it's on the rugby field and other places, but for this group it's right in their songs," Serevi said.

He said the highlight of his short visit to Fiji last week was to be part of the launch.

Mr Raqio said composition of the Volume 9 album titled Vinaka Jisu na Nomuni Vosa bula took almost a month where Mrs Teresia Raqio composed the songs.

The recording was done in October last year.

"We're grateful to all the churches, NGOs, church ministries and every individual who have supported us for the past several years," Mr Raqio said.

"The journey has been amazing. And we are fortunate to be experiencing this journey with those who depend on our songs to know God more."
