TWO years since Severe Tropical Cyclone Winston wreaked havoc across Fiji, Beachcomber was told of this story.

As strong winds burst through the home of a family in one of the areas badly affected by the Category 5 cyclone, the man of the house grabbed his two children and ran to seek shelter in their village shop.

With one side of the shop's walls gone, the three still insisted to evacuate there.

Beachcomber was told the father yelled out to his children, "Ra luvequ, kua tale ni dua na ka drau via tara i loma qo, na vola ga ni dinau. (My children, don't touch anything here, just try and locate the credit book."

Despite the fully stocked shelves in the store, the three walked away from the shop the next morning with the credit book.

They did not burn the credit book, they actually buried it so it could never be located again by the shopkeeper.

Winston ga sa rawata!
