Democracy issue

Allen Lockington, Kava Place, Waiyavi, Lautoka
Thursday, December 07, 2017

During a grog session someone asked me what I believe democracy was about.

I said, it's where people live in peace with no fear of the government.

Then he asked me, "Who coined 'government of the people, by the people, for the people'?

I had to ask Aunty Google.

Knowing me, I went and looked for more, and hey I was surprised by the many meanings of democracy!

But the best explanation came from one of the guys who said, "Democracy is when you have no fear of the government."

Mmmm… that one sounded good to me.

But you know what, our grog sessions are always fun, we talk about things that are funny.
