Issued from the National Weather Forecasting Centre Nadi at 4:29am on Wednesday the 6th of December 2017 Situation: A weak trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies slow moving over Fiji.

Another trough approaches the group from the west. It affects the southern part of the group and is expected to gradually spread to the rest of the country from later today till Friday.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group: Some showers over Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, the eastern and interior parts of the larger islands.

Showers to gradually spread to the rest of the group later today. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls likely. Moderate southwest to northwest winds. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Thursday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms over most places.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori : Some showers. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms expected. Outlook for Thursday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba : Showers especially in the afternoon or evening. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls likely. Outlook for Thursday : Showers especially in the afternoon or evening with few thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected.

For Labasa : Some showers especially in the afternoon or evening. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls likely. Outlook for Thursday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Savusavu : Cloudy periods with some showers. Isolated thunderstorms with heavy falls likely. Outlook for Thursday : Occasional showers, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

For Rotuma : A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers lies within the vicinity of Rotuma. Cloudy periods with some showers and few isolated thunderstorms. Moderate south to southeast winds. Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Thursday : Some showers.

Another trough approaches the group from the west. It affects the southern part of the group and is expected to gradually spread to the rest of the country from today till Friday.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters: Northwest to southwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Moderate seas. Poor visibility in areas of heavy showers and thunderstorms.

Further outlook: Southwest to northwest winds 10 to 15 knots. Moderate seas.
