Our rugby brand

S. Silatolu, Nakasi

Our national rugby team has shown tremendous improvements with its "general" play from the forwards to the backline.

The northern hemisphere teams have broken down South Africa and gave the mighty All Blacks scary moments. Fiji showed awesome combination displays of open and tightly structured games in all of its matches against Italy, Ireland and Canada.

Although we lost two of the three games played, the spectators and the commentators were always in admiration of our open running style and unorthodox ball unloading featured in all of the three games.

Is this because of 90 per cent of the team being professional overseas players?

Or is this because of the technological and analytical coaching approach that is now made available?

Our sevens team took a "great uplift" during Ben Ryan's era.

It is about time our national rugby 15s code team follow suit.

Keep up the great effort. Rome was never built in a day.
