BULA Fiji.

It is great to be writing from Vanuatu's capital Port Vila where the 2017 Pacific Mini Games is being held. Our journey started on Monday when we arrived from Fiji after a little delay in the flight, but we arrived in time for the official opening ceremony.

It was a smooth two hours and 35 minutes journey from Nadi Airport travelling with Fiji Airways.

Veteran photographer Atu Rasea and I had a brief discussion after we landed at the Bauerfield Airport as we navigated our way to our hotel.

Our taxi driver known as "Johnny" was an interesting person and helped show us around Port Vila before we quickly headed towards the Korman Stadium which is about 20-minute drive, but it took us about one hour.

The scenes were as usual to Fiji with the daily traffic jams and cars tooting their horns, police escorting the traffic so we decided to get off and join the locals and walk to the stadium.

It surely tested out endurance and stamina as we reached before the commencement of the official ceremony.

We were greeted by Team Fiji officials and were given a seashell necklace to wear which looked so beautiful.

The ceremony was witnessed by a jam-packed crowd at the stadium where the Ni Vanuatu traditional ceremony took place.

One interesting thing to note was there was no fireworks used, but some environment friendly decorations were used as the Pacific Mini Games is raising awareness on the climate change.

That is it from me for now, until next time moce Viti.

Go Fiji go.
