Bill partnership aims for more customer convenience

A NEW partnership between the Fiji Electricity Authority and HFC Bank will allow more customers to pay their bills online.

The partnership was enabled through HFC's online bill payment platform, adding more convenience to the bank's customers on paying their utility bills.

The new service will also give HFC customers the flexibility of electricity payments 24-hours and seven days a week.

The move also adds on to the extended services that FEA has enabled in line with the digital age and to avoid the hassle of long queues for its customers.

HFC acting chief executive officer Raj Sharma said this would allow their customers to make electricity bill payments via internet and mobile.

"This would mean more convenience for customers, having to walk through traffic or coming out of their busy schedules is a thing of the past," he said.

"The new partnership allows one from the comfort of your desktop to pay your FEA bills."

Mr Sharma said the bill payments transfer would be processed on "real time", meaning the payment is transferred instantly to an FEA account at any time.

FEA chief executive officer Hashmukh Patel said they continued to expand their services to ensure that customers were "totally satisfied".

"If people are busy, then they should have a facility whereby anytime of the day, seven days a week, should be able to pay their electricity bills," Mr Patel said.

"So to all HFC customers, you are requested to pay your FEA bills through this platform."
