FORMER Bati captain and Kangaroos legend Petero Civoniceva has declared his availability to help Fiji at the 2021 Rugby League World Cup in England.

Civoniceva and member of the Vodafone Fiji Bati side attended their thanksgiving service at the Centenary Methodist Church in Suva yesterday.

He said the 2017 world cup campaign was one of the greatest experiences he shared with the players.

"As a retired player training and being part of these young men, to see the journey that they are on and the way they represent Fiji, is very humbling and I am so proud," said Civoniceva, who played 45 Tests for Australia and six for Fiji.

"For the next world cup I am ready to assist the players again because I am very passionate about the sport and being with the boys.

"We have so many young kids coming through the game and also a number of young players in the Bati team.

"We have to nurture them and prepare them for the New South Wales Cup and then we can progress them to represent Fiji Bati."

Civoniceva, who played 309 National Rugby League games, spoke highly of the players' performance at the world cup.

"The boys wanted to be part of the service to end their world cup campaign giving thanks back to God and I am so grateful to the players for remembering the spiritual upbringing. We had so much amazing support from all Fijians and at the end of the day we all give praises and just to share the moment with the congregation is something very special."

Civoniceva captained the Fiji Bati to the 2013 Rugby League World Cup.
