ABOUT $50,000 was given to members of the Vodafone Fiji Bati during the team's 2017 Rugby League World Cup campaign celebration at Albert Park, Suva yesterday.

Each of the 25 players received $2000 each.

Vodafone manager corporate affairs Shalendra Prasad said they would continue to support the Fiji Bati.

"We had started our partnership with Fiji National Rugby League in 2006 and since then we had not looked back and we've always supported the team and through that support we've seen the amount of talent unleashed in the world of rugby league," he said.

"Now we have seen our players sign contracts with National Rugby League (NRL) clubs in Australia and they have supported their families.

"Our contract had expired before the RLWC.

"We managed to continue our support and we had temporarily extended the contract after the RLWC."

FNRL chairman Filimoni Vosarogo thanked all sponsors who supported the team during the RLWC campaign.

"I would like to thank Vodafone, without their sponsorship the rugby league development would not have been staged.

"I know our contract will have to be renegotiated and we will look forward to that."
