Top fight in Labasa

BOXING fans on Vanua Levu will be treated to some top-class boxing action next week when the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotion will be held at Subrail Park in Labasa.

The program will feature former Pacific Games gold medallist Osea Nakanacagi against upcoming Siliveni Nawai of Nadi.

Boxing promoter Simon Naushad said the main bout would be interesting as both boxers had a lot to prove.

He said Nakanacagi would be out to win for his home fans.

"Like I always say this will be a battle between Vanua Levu and Viti Levu and the onus is on the boxers to prove the best during the night," he said.

Naushad said more exciting bouts were being planned for the night and the people of Vanua Levu would be treated to quality bouts.

Big names such as Abhay Chand, Savenaca Naliva, Junior Filimoni Naliva are some of the fights being confirmed for the event including two female boxers.
