Big test for Lautoka

Maciu Malo
Saturday, December 02, 2017

THE Lautoka soccer team is fortunate to get the exposure they deserve when they meet Team Wellington in their friendly game tomorrow as a buildup to the upcoming O'League championship.

Dubbed as the country's No.1 team this season after scooping the Inter District Championship and the Vodafone National League titles, the side is hopeful of a good outing at the O'League.

The team will be bolstered by the services of star players such as national reps Dave Radregai, Kavaia Rawaqa, Zibrah Sahib, Kolinio Sivoki, Samuela Drudru, Jone Vesikula, Ilaitia Tuilau and Ben Mateinaqara.

Team president Abdul Kadar said the game against Wellington was the type of exposure they wanted to best test their players. He said the game would give his boys what to expect at the O'League.

"We are fortunate and thankful to Wellington for their willingness to play us," said Kadar.

"We desperately need these types of exposure and it will best test our combination. We want to show other teams in the O'League that we are there to compete instead of making up the numbers and we need this friendly to prepare us for the championship."
