REWA utility forwards Epeli Saukuru, Tevita Waranivalu and Madhvan Goundar have joined the Vodafone national football team this week as they prepare for the Pacific Mini Games in Vanuatu.

Head coach Christophe Gamel confirmed their return when the squad marched back into camp.

"They should have been there since the beginning but the Police kept them for duties which were important for them. It's totally normal and I accept it," he said.

"The only problem is that they didn't train with us before and they are currently not fit in what I look for but I will give them the chance to show.

"I hope they cope up very fast because they were with me in my previous camps, we will also get some time in Vanuatu to fix everything."

Gamel expressed his disappointment on certain district as they failed to provide feedback after coming back from the recent Pacific Cup in New Zealand.

"I had to allow them recovery time because most of them played in the Pacific Cup and some players arrived injured.

"No district has given me feedback so as usual I face these kinds of problems because nobody wants to help the national team."

However, we will work on our game plan as we prepare to face Tuvalu in our opening match today.

"We will work with what we have and we will try to fix those injured players within our two days in camp.

"It will also give a chance to all other players to show their abilities to perform well and get game time."
