DOUGLAS Pharmacy has opened a new state-of-the art factory in Nadi with an estimated investment of $10 million.

The factory was opened yesterday by Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

He said the new factory would create more employment and economic activity.

"It also means a better standard of living for our people," he said.

"I'd like to thank Douglas Pharmacy for having faith in Fiji, and as you all know Government supports such initiatives.

"We are happy to support such an investment."

Douglas Pharmacy managing director Jeoffrey Douglas said they were grateful for the support by their staff members and Government.

"We have a good group of people who are like a family and it's always nice for me to come to Fiji from New Zealand because it feels like coming home,"he said.

"We haven't 100 per cent completed the facility as we still have some machinery coming in.

"But by the end of everything we would have spent about $10 million."
