LOYAL customers of Shop N Save have another premium shopping experience at the supermarket's newest outlet in Lautoka.

The modern facility that was refurbished to the tune of $5.5 million was officially opened yesterday.

Shop N Save director Nisheel Deo said the new outlet was part of the company's strategy to invest in a more modern chain of supermarkets for their customers.

"Renovating this building was basically part of our strategy to refurbish and renovate our existing buildings and our supermarkets to a premium standard," he said.

"The building investment was $4m and our fit out investment was an additional $1.5m.

"So we had a $5.5m total investment on this building."

He said a food court would also open next month at the outlet.

"The building itself consists of the ground floor which is the supermarket, and then the second floor has the restaurant, bakery and coffee shop which will open sometime in mid-December.

"The whole idea of opening refurbished shops is to basically offer our customers a comfortable shopping environment that is modern and spacious," he said.

"It's fully airconditioned and has a great range in the supermarket.

"It offers a premium standard for our customers but maintains the most important and core focus of our supermarket which is having the best prices for our customers."

He said the new building joined the ranks of its modernised outlets across the country.

"We've tried to keep it to the same standard as 9 Miles, Sigatoka, and Votualevu," he said.

"It's basically our way of continuously upgrading ourselves and evolving our company so that we can offer the best to our customers."
