LABASA businessman Satish Kumar values all customers irrespective of race, colour or creed.

He believes that whether a customer walks into his shop with or without shoes or spends as low as 50 cents or $1000, they are all important to his business.

"The staff are always trained to treat customers well and it has worked out well for us because we see increased number of customers coming to our shop every day," Mr Kumar said.

"Business over the years has grown and even though there are good and challenging days, we have managed to survive and doing well too.

"For our variety shop, a lot of customers come in to buy because the price if affordable and we have a wide range of product."

Under his wings are company branches such as the Banana Leaf Restaurant and Satish Motor Mart.

For these businesses, Mr Kumar said positive growth has been noted.

With delicious menus at the restaurant, Mr Kumar said customers had made good use of night services.

"A lot of bookings and families coming there to have their meals and with the festive season coming up, we expect to see more people at the restaurant," he said.

Mr Kumar, who is also the chairman of the Labasa Chamber of Commerce and the Northern Duavata Crime Prevention Carnival has played a vital role in securing the town with CCTV cameras.

As a result, he said the business community of Labasa has benefited from the security cameras that has helped reduce crime rate in the area.

But for his variety shop along Jaduram St, Mr Kumar assures customers that Christmas presents are already available for children to enjoy.
