McKee maps Test plans

FIJI Airways Flying Fijians coach John McKee is looking forward to the 2018 June Test window.

McKee said the 2018 June Test series was next up for the Flying Fijians with three Tests to be played in Fiji.

"Our local-based Flying Fijians will be working first towards the Fiji Warriors matches in the Pacific Rugby Challenge in March," he said.

McKee said it was very good to finish the November tour with a win against Canada.

"At times in the game, the Flying Fijians showed what they are capable of in terms of playing an open game with both backs and forwards involved.

"The scrums were very good and set a good platform to attack from.

"Work needs to be done around our accuracy in supporting the ball carrier. Post contact, we turned over some balls in this area or we were penalised for the ball carrier not releasing.

"I will return via Japan where I will be looking at some training camp venues for our lead-up to Rugby World Cup 2019".

Fiji lost to the Azzurris 19-10 in its first autumn Test match and showed a brilliant performance against Ireland losing 23-20.

McKee's men went on to crush Canada 57-17 to end the tour.

The Fiji-based players arrived home last night.
