Dubai fever hits Fiji

While the focus for rugby fans has shifted from the RLWC after Fiji's exit, I must salute the Tongan spirit for making names at the tournament.

The fact that Tonga will honour the Mate Ma'a Tonga with a public holiday is praiseworthy.

The Tongans almost had the last laugh had it not been for that dubious call by the referee, who I felt should have gone upstairs.

The 20-18 close call has inspired the Tongans and come the next RLWC, Tonga will be a force to reckon with. Even Tongan fans were active marching the streets of Auckland and getting a petition signed up. Well done Tonga. Let's make some noise!

Meanwhile, Fijians are gearing up for the Dubai 7s.

My friend and FBC journalist, Vashneel Prasad, is getting married and he is hoping that he can get an early wedding gift.

On the other hand, Fiji One and FBC TV must be commended for getting the tournament live to our doorsteps.

We are so lucky that a tournament miles away from home is brought so close to us.

Tomorrow our boys will don the white jumper and get ready to showcase their talents.

All we can do is support our warriors by making positive remarks and supporting them with a prayer. Toso Viti toso! Get the Dubai cup home, please! Cheers Fiji!
