EVERGREEN Vitori Natawake is keen to showcase his talents when he returns to the ring to fight Sorokoba's Savenaca Naliva.

Natawake and Naliva will feature in the main supporting bout of the Canada Fiji Southern Boxing Promotion scheduled at Subrail Park on December 16.

The Ra native has been training hard for the past three months in his quest to win in front of his fans in the North.

Natawake wants to win desperately for his fans.

He said he expected a tough battle against Naliva and was confident of a good showdown.

The 40-year-old thanked the promoter Simon Naushad for giving him the opportunity to fight in Labasa.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to display my talent in front of my fans," said Natawake.

"I haven't seen Naliva fight but I have been told he is one of the best and I am looking forward to the battle.

"This will be the first time for me to fight in Labasa although I am from Ra but have been here for the past few years and I will do my best for my home fans."

Natawake has fought more than 40 amateur fights and won four of his nine professional fights.

Meanwhile, Fiji's boxing new wonderboy Siliveni Nawai will face former South Pacific Games gold medallist Osea Nakanacagi in the main bout while Fiji's number one super middleweight boxer Abhay Chand to fight Ulaiasi Qalomai in the extra supporting bout.

Naushad said more than 15 fights had been lined up for the program and called on the boxing fans in the North to turn up in huge numbers and witness top-class boxing action.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the people in the North to witness some exciting fights," he said.

"Most importantly it will feature many boxers from Vanua Levu and their presence will boost the morale of their boxers.

"It is a battle between Vanua Levu and Viti Levu boxers."
