THREE Fijian women company directors will be travelling to Hyderabad, India next week to attend the 8th Annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES).

The three women are Vera Chute, who is the managing director for Value City (SP) Ltd, Sachiko Soro, director Vou Dance Fiji and Naziah Ali director for Cover Story Ltd.

Ms Chute said being chosen to attend the GES 2017 was a huge achievement for her.

"I hope to do a lot of networking, meet other entrepreneurs and get fresh ideas on how they operate their business," Ms Chute said.

She said recycled clothing and related goods were the core of her business.

"A major concern in the world today is the environment and going green.

"Disposal of plastic products like bags, bottles, containers is a big problem in Fiji as a lot of these end up in our oceans and waterways.

"I have plans to diversify my recycling business and I hope to meet plastic recyclers, source equipment and hopefully visit a recycling plant."

Ms Soro was excited at the opportunities that would come from the summit.

"I am thrilled to be chosen as I am from the creative industry that has not really had much traction as a sector in Fiji in the past," Ms Soro said.

"Globally it is a multi-billion dollar industry, so I am hoping to meet others in the entertainment industry and gain some insight as to how their organisations operate especially moving into digital and online platforms."

Ms Ali said the GES 2017 was a great opportunity for her to learn from and grow personally.

"Being part of GES 2017 means I would have the opportunity to pick up ideas from 1200 global entrepreneurs, investors, mentors and leaders," Ms Ali said.

"Having the opportunity to learn from the prime minister of India as well as Ivanka Trump and other global leaders is a huge deal for me."

The summit will bring together entrepreneurs, investors, educators, government officials and startup ecosystem supporters to the world's most important event on entrepreneurship.

GES 2017 would be held from November 28 to November 30.
