Weather Bulletin

Situation: A trough of low pressure lies to the north of the group.

It is expected to gradually drift southwards from later today,

initially affecting the northern parts before spreading to the rest

of the Fiji group.

Forecast to midnight tonight for the Fiji group:

Cloudy periods with some showers over northern Vanua Levu, Taveuni

and nearby smaller islands, Northern Lau and Lomaiviti group, the

eastern parts and interior of the larger islands. Elsewhere, fine

apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.

Moderate to fresh east to southeast winds.

Rough seas.

Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional rain and few thunderstorms over

Vanua Levu, Taveuni and nearby smaller islands, Lau and Lomaiviti

group, the eastern parts and interior of the other larger islands.

Elsewhere, isolated afternoon or evening showers and possible

thunderstorms. Isolated heavy falls expected.

For Navua / Suva / Nausori :

Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional rain and few thunderstorms.

Isolated heavy falls expected.

For Nadi / Lautoka / Ba :

Fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers.

Outlook for Tuesday : Isolated afternoon or evening showers and

possible thunderstorms.

For Labasa :

Fine apart from isolated afternoon or evening showers

Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional rain and few thunderstorms.

Isolated heavy falls expected.

For Savusavu : Cloudy periods with some showers.

Outlook for Tuesday : Occasional rain and few thunderstorms.

Isolated heavy falls expected.

For Rotuma :

A trough of low pressure with associated cloud and rain affects

Rotuma.

Occasional rain, heavy at times and few thunderstorms.

Moderate easterly winds, fresh and gusty at times.

Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for Tuesday : Rain and thunderstorms continuing.

A STRONG WIND WARNING REMAINS IN FORCE FOR ALL FIJI WATERS.

Situation:

A high pressure system to the far south of Fiji directs a strong east

to southeast wind flow over Fiji waters.

Forecast to 6am tomorrow for Fiji waters:

East to southeast winds 20 to 25 knots.

Rough seas.

Moderate southeasterly swells.
