DEFENDING champions Jack's Nadi is on track for the semi-finals of the Pacific Cup in Auckland, New Zealand after recording a win in the second round of the competition.

Nadi defeated Australia Fiji Football Association Savusavu 1-0.

The Jetsetters opened their campaign with a hard fought 1-all draw against neighbour Lautoka.

The duration of the matches during the Pacific Cup is 60 minutes which Nadi coach Anand Sami believes should be changed to 90 minutes in the future.

According to Sami, with the five substitutes allowed it should be possible to play 90 minutes football in the tournament.

Sami said the concept was successful during the Courts Inter District Championship in Lautoka last month.

"It should be 90 minutes football because 60 minutes can be any body's game," he said.

"'In 60 minutes football, the fitness does not even count. If you score a goal and then the defence falls behind, your team can win."

In other round two results, Labasa defeated Rewa 1-0, New Zealand Fiji Football Incorporated All Stars hammered United States All Stars 5-0 while Lautoka beat New Zealand Fiji Football Incorporated Manukau 1-0.
