ARMY Green and Police White are the two teams that have stamped their marks in the Raka 7s elimination round at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

Army Green from Delainabua made their presence felt under the leadership of former national 7s rep Isake Katonibau and the undefeated Police White had players such as Keponi Paul, Sitiveni Waqa and Ratu Meli Kurisaru.

The two teams are followed by Mana Whey Coral Coast sevens champions First Light Taveuni which defeated first Landing in a close game.

Tournament Director Ropate Kauvesi said the teams had done their part and now the top teams had confirmed their spots after the first elimination.

"It is exciting as well seeing the minor teams coming through, teams like Raiwaqa and First Light Taveuni beating First Landing which consisted of top players from Tabadamu and some former national 7s," he said.

"It will be a challenging second elimination today and at the end of the day the team that prepares well would shine through and it will be a game of determination, courage and as well as character.

"It is challenging and I believe in a team that prepares well will come through."

Kauvesi also added that former national 7s players still had a chance to make it to the national squad if they were determined.

"They still have that urge and spirit to put on that white jersey.

'We have Samisoni Viriviri and Kitione Taliga leading the Dratabu team and we have Masivesi Dakuwaqa playing for the McDonald's Saunaka team.

"At the end of the day they're putting their hearts on their sleeves representing their teams and whatever the outcome is I am thankful that Saiasi Fuli and Nacanieli Cawanibuka are here to watch and scout players and hopefully these players can put the white jersey back on again.

"We do need experience and a lot of guts and that can carry us in the upcoming Commonwealth Games and the World Cup in San Francisco next year."
