COP23 and loans

Savenaca Vakaliwaliwa, Suva
Saturday, November 25, 2017

In response to Hans B Boernke (FT 24/11), the A-G has cleared the air (FT 24/11) and no Fiji Day like party would be held.

Should we party for getting a $800 million loan through the European Development Bank to modernise freshwater supply and sewage treatment for the Suva-Nausori corridor?

The more funding that has been lined up for the relocation of endangered villages in coastal areas and securing vulnerable coastal land, are also loans or gifts?

We all know what happens when a nation is drowning in debt and I pray that this good cause called COP23 will not imprison our beloved nation in debt that will be a big burden on future voted governments.
