Roads budget Maybe roads budget should be diverted to clear blocked drains and tunnels, to avoid flooding during heavy downpour. Steven Chandra Suva

Facing the best

THE Fiji Bati are prepared to take on the best and our prayers are for each of the lads to showcase their best which they have shown in all of their games so far. Judging by the words of the Kangaroos, they are out to do their best as well so with all said and yet to be done, we pray our warriors stick to the game-plan and the job is done. You got this. Toso Bati.

Celebrate or not

LIKE Lenora Qereqeretabua (FT 22/11), I totally see no reason why there should be a $35k party organised for those returning from the COP23 event in Bonn. Why celebrate when there are citizens of our nation who need financial support to survive and to continue with their lives. Don't they deserve our most immediate attention now? Aren't there more important priorities out there? May I ask, "What is there to celebrate after Bonn?"

Climate change

We all want the Fiji Bati to win against Australia. Heart attack is now attributed to climate change. The loss might be also attributed to climate change too.

Party money

I WISH the delegation leaders would say, "We will be using the money to build sea walls that have been damaged by rising sea levels". Now won't that be a party.

$35k celebration

Kudos Lenora Qereqeretabua (FT 22/11). Hope it is considered.

Uplift lives

Instead of spending $35k on the welcoming party, can we use that to uplift the lives of minimum wage earners. Imagine how many years it would take a minimum wage earner to earn $35k!

Merry Xmas

Isa! I believe to splash out $35,000 just to welcome the somewhat "colossal" COP23 delegation from Germany is simply ridiculous, absurd, ludicrous, nonsensical etc. People are still rebuilding post-Winston, some are still awaiting promised building materials, students still in tents, notable increase of beggars on the streets, traffic jam galore, etc. Isa, Merry Christmas and happy New Year all.
