RAKA 7s will have a festival atmosphere starting today at the ANZ Stadium in Suva where fans can come with their family and enjoy the 7s rugby in the tournament.

Tournament director Ropate Kauvesi said he was expecting a good turnout during the two-day tournament.

"The crowd will be entertained by the players, but off the field, there will be food stalls and we have live bands with local musicians while there will be free face painting as well," Kauvesi said.

"BLK will be organising the prizes as well where the spectators can also win BLK slides and flip-flop.

"There will be a plastic man who will be dressed up in plastic signifying the number of plastic an average household uses in one year."

There will be 192 matches which will be played over the two days.

Kauvesi said the tournament would be plastic free where alternatives would be used instead of plastic bags.

"The ticket sales are progressing slowly by slowly and we are expecting a lot of people to come out and cheer for their teams and I think the weather will hold," he added.

"There are tickets at the Fiji Sports Council."

The ticket prices are $5 grandstand and ground today and for tomorrow the prices are $10 for ground and $15 for the grandstand.
